Landon Battles: Black Gold

By: Que Eleven

One of the most eclectic mixtapes to hit the Internet is Landon Battles’ Black & Gold.
The rapper with the conscience edge, some consider his style conscience trap music. Think Kanye fused with Waka Flocka. Battles is making a name for himself, he’s performed at the South By Southwest (SXSW) music and film festival and recently interviewed with “Sway In The Morning” where his skills were tested on the “5 Fingers of Death” freestyle that rappers have known not to survive. Battles is inspired by whack rappers and determined to use his music to wake people up. The mixtape features a variety of tracks, providing songs for all listeners to take away a royal experience. He’s continuing his independent campaign with Black & Gold set to release with 5 new songs amidst a brewing relationship under Warner Bros. Records. Battles is looking to capitalize from his independent campaign, but is quoted as saying, “if the right deal comes along I might just sign”.
